If you are at secondary school, a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship can:

• Be completed in conjunction with the VCAL
• Incorporate paid employment and structured training
• Lead to full-time employment as an apprentice or trainee
• Gain you credit for VCAL units
• Help you gain the skills required by industry before you enter the workforce on a full time basis
• Start you on the road to a nationally-recognised qualification through your on and off-the-job training
