Who is my employer?
APlus is your legal employer and will place you with a ‘host’ employer.
How do I get paid?
Aplus will pay your wages and superannuation. You will be required to complete and lodge a timesheet to APlus on a weekly basis.
When will I get paid?
Most trainees and apprentices get paid on a weekly basis after lodging a timesheet.
Where will I be working?
While APlus remains your legal employer you will be placed with a Host Employer.
If I am an apprentice, how do I organise my TAFE training?
- Apprentices and trainees attend training, usually at a TAFE, either one day a week or in a block of a week every five weeks. The tuition fees range from $187.50 to a maximum of $1250 per year, depending on the course. There are other fees for administration and materials. The tuition fee and some other costs are reimbursed by APlus as stated in the Modern Award for your job.
- You’ll do a Certificate level of study to go with the ‘hands-on’ learning that takes place on the job.
- Your APlus Employment Co-ordinator will organise a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to deliver the training program that’s most relevant to you.
- When you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have a Level II, III, or IV Certificate, which is a nationally recognised qualification.

Who will pay TAFE fees?
Initially trainees and apprentices pay their own TAFE fees however upon successful completion of each year of training they will be reimbursed the tuition fees by APlus.
What support will APlus provide to me?
We provide support for all trainees and apprentices by way of our mentoring program which fits in with a regular cycle of visiting in both the workplace and the training provider. We are there to assist and guide through not only the apprenticeship and traineeship but where necessary provide support and assistance in other areas of your life to allow you to successfully complete your work and training commitments and gain your qualification.

What will happen when I complete?
When you have completed the work placement and training aspects of your traineeship/apprenticeship you will receive a qualification relating to the work you have completed.
